New Summer Joyride Bucket Hats Arriving Soon

Hope you're all well and enjoying the Summer! I've been hard at work developing some new garment and trying to get everything production ready. But in the mean time here's a small capsule collection of Summer weight bucket hats for our Joyride Headwear Collection. Made from deadstock menswear fabric ends from our friends at Epaulet, we used an assortment of Japanese Kuroki Floral Chambray, Italian Linens, and a beautiful Emerald tone Summer weight Wool Silk Suiting. These bucket hats are produced by GTLA, one of the few female owned and vertically integrated factories in Los Angeles, CA. It's always a pleasure to be able to make everything locally when we can.  This new hat collection has an updated shape, a longer 2 3/4"...

The Uprock Coach Jacket Project

Been away too long from updating the blog page. We’ve gone from bandanas, to tees, to all sorts of accessories, and a button up camp shirt. But a jacket has always been something I’ve wanted to do. Being a small one person brand with a limited budget, it takes a lot money and additional steps to making apparel. Having 15 years of experience in the fashion industry does help with sourcing, pattern making and knowing exactly what I want to create. The Uprock Coach Jacket is a collection of all that experience that I look forward to share with you.  Here’s a few photos of the process to making the Uprock Coach Jacket. More about the inspiration behind it on...

Rhythm & Cycles Part 1

Launching today 9/6 the Rhythm & Cycles Ring and Bandana Holder. It's an idea I had since last year but that didn't really manifest itself until around New Years Eve 2017 to early Jan 2018. I had seen a lot of other woggles (that's the legit bandana holder term FYI) but wanted something to go with the bandana that doubled as a ring I could wear without it too.  I drew the design with the idea of a wrapped around paisley because when I think of bandanas I think paisleys naturally. And from there I started to dig deeper into the history of the design. The design spans it's inspiration from as far east as India, to the Middle East (Where's it's called a Boteh meaning a...

Plinth & Scratch blog post 2

Sorry for the dust bowl silence between launch and the second blog post. It's been hard trying to manage a full time gig and trying to create something I feel that's missing in the market currently.  Good news though Plinth & Scratch logo pins are i̶n̶ ̶p̶r̶o̶d̶u̶c̶t̶i̶o̶n̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶w̶i̶l̶l̶ ̶b̶e̶ ̶c̶o̶m̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶2̶-̶3̶ ̶m̶o̶r̶e̶ ̶w̶e̶e̶k̶s̶ now actually available on the website. (Got delayed on this post too :/) But let's get down to what Plinth & Scratch is really about as promised in the first blog post...deep breath...exhale.... Plinth & Scratch is the amalgamation of all my experience in the fashion industry and music (on the listening, standing, seated, dancing, jamming out at the 9-5 and collecting records level.)...

The Plinth & Scratch website is finally up!

It's finally open! Thank you to all of you that have helped, supported early, and waited patiently as I fumbled my way through starting this new journey. It's been a learning curve developing the product and getting it to a platform to showcase and sell it. But I'm glad whoever is still here to buy a bandana and rock it to bare thread.  So a little story about Plinth & Scratch is in order, since people have been probably seeing all those epic photos on Instagram. (If you haven't...well you should @plinthandscratch.) It all started with music...well specially vinyl records, vintage hi-fi, and dance. I also had a big year of going to concerts throughout 2014 to now. All those experiences along with...
