Introducing our Uprock Coach Jacket. Inspired by the club jackets of 80's and 90's b-boy crews and hip hop icons. The name Uprock often also referred to as Toprock comes from the freestyle standing moves street dancers used to express their style. This jacket crafted in Los Angeles, CA represents that style element with an elevated and clean cut approach with buttons instead of the standard snaps, functional cuffs over the usual elastic at the sleeves and a clean bottom hem without the drawcord. Two special design details that were added are the flip up storm collar closure and two interior pockets perfect for a phone, headphones, passport, etc.
For the denim version of the Uprock Jacket we stripped the lining and added a classic golden thread for the topstitching. Most of the entire jacket is finished with flat felled seams as well making the interior as immaculate and durable as the exterior. The buttons are dead stock brass with smokey brown and blue resin and resemble ancient Imperial Chinese tokens known for good luck.
The Jade Sapphire denim from Tavex Mills Mexico division is truly a dead stock gem of a find. The color comes from an indigo warp and jade weft, giving the appearance of a greenish blue hue that reminds me of well weathered oxidized copper Fu Dog statues. At 10.5oz it's the perfect weight that'll get you through the Fall and into the Spring. The composition of 98% cotton with 2% spandex is almost unnoticeable but definitely a factor of comfort in movement when out and about.
