The Flamenco Sunset Scarf is inspired by Miles Davis’s song Flamenco Sketches. The reason its named after this song is because the shapes and colors reminded me of endless summer sunsets over the city skyline of cities like Los Angeles, New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong…Ephemeral sunsets we chase from skyline to skyline.
The fabric was found during a recent sourcing trip and was an end roll with just enough fabric for a small batch of scarves. The only information we have on it is that it’s from a mill called Rosa Italy.
Cut and sewn in Los Angeles, it’s perfectly lightweight and breathable but has a dense enough weave to keep the wind out and has the feeling of a raw silk and linen. The edges are finished with a magenta border for a minimal and clean look. This scarf is definitely the right pop of color you’ll need for the coming months or a cool Summer evening.
